Introduction

This accessibility statement applies to the College’s Animals system which can be found at https://animals.solihull.ac.uk.

Animals is an online animal management tool that supports staff and students in the Animal Management School to record animal health checks.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Preparation Of This Accessibility Statement

This statement was prepared on 14th September 2021.

This website was last tested on 14th September 2021. The test was carried out by Solihull College and University Centre.

Testing has been carried out using the 'Lighthouse' plugin and the ARC Toolkit for Google Chrome. This primarily highlights programmatically detectable accessibility issues. The user experience has been tested using Windows Ease of Access Tools and the NVDA screen reader. The accessibility of the Animals system will be checked whenever changes are made and any issues identified will be fixed before changes are made live.
